To make a furnace, you will need eight cobblestone. To make a furnace, you will need to place one cobblestone on the bottom of your crafting table. Then, you need to place additional cobblestone on top of the first one. You will need to do this six times, until you have a total of eight. This will make a “block” of cobblestone. This will become the furnace.

To make charcoal, you will need to fill the furnace with wood. It is recommended that you use sand and gravel to make charcoal, because you can get sand and gravel faster than you can get wood.
